Hi there, my name is Nancy and I am turning lemons into lemonade with my love of polymer clay.

All of my life I have worked with one creative outlet or another, mostly to express myself in various ways or make special gifts for people. I stumbled across polymer clay about 6 years ago and have used nothing since.

I have always been envious of those who are fortunate enough to be able to devote their entire life to their creative abilities, rather than having a real 9 to 5 job!

Well, I started out talking about lemons. Now I should go on to how it relates.

I have worked in the medical field for the last 20 years, and climbed the career ladder to a very successful position as an Administrator at a medical facility. Things happen and life changes and it did for me. I have been on unemployment since July, 2008, going from a highly paid management position to down and out. Life handed me lemons :(

While job searching and resume submitting and interviews were my main priority, I began to realize that this is not a job seeker's market and more people are losing their jobs daily.

And then I realized, life handed me lemons and I wanted lemonade! The extra time I have had allowed me to set up my workspace and dig out my clay. YEAH!

There are so many wonderful polymer clay artists I have been inspired by and I am truly humbled to have their knowledge and tips & tricks as an easily available resource. I have never taken an official class or instruction, everything I have learned is through the hours I have spent reading their online tutorials and making my own mistakes.

I have been making a few things over the last few months (well, more than a few) and will be posting the pictures here. I hope for some valuable feedback.

Here, have a glass of lemonade :)

Nancy
